Research Help

Are you working on a new research project? Unsure where to start? Where to search? Follow along with our step-by-step Research Guide to help you through the research process. This online guide will help you develop a topic, find the right resources, create citations, and avoid plagiarism.

University of Saint Francis librarians are generally available to meet with you between the hours of 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m Friday, and by appointment at other times.

To meet with a librarian, stop at the user services desk and ask to speak to a librarian. No appointment is necessary. The user services desk is located on the second floor of the library.

Equipment Loans

Do you need a laptop, camera, or microphone? Vann Library provides a variety of equipment available for checkout from the User Services desk.

New Oxford University Press Databases!

Four major reference resources from Oxford University Press are now available via the Lee and Jim Vann Library web page. The new databases are:

To access the new databases, navigate to the Databases A-Z page. Click the "O" to jump to the "O" section.

Merck Manual Now Online

All versions of the Merck Manual are now free online with no login required. In 2015, Merck & Co. made a commitment to provide current medical information for medical professionals and patients through the Global Medical Knowledge 2020 initiative. This is also a very "green" initiative in that the company will no longer distribute the print version of the manuals. A link to the Merck Manual Professional Version is included in the Databases A-Z list.

Device Charging Stations Now Available

Two device charging stations have been placed in the library for students and faculty use. One station is located near the service desk on the 2nd floor of the library and another is located in the Collaboratory. Happy charging!

Morningstar Investment Research

The Morningstar Investment Research Center is now available! Morningstar offers real-time access to comprehensive data and independent analysis on thousands of investments, spanning mutual funds, stocks, exchange-traded funds, and closed-end funds. Access Morningstar via the link above, or click the Databases A-Z link in the right sidebar.


ONESEARCH is the new one-stop solution for searching and accessing resources available from the library. Use the OneSearch search tool at the top of the page to locate books and other materials we have in the library along with many electronic and online resources.

Films On Demand

Films On Demand is a source of high-quality video and multimedia for your academic needs. Find films for humanities, arts, sciences, business, technology, and much more.

The Pope John Paul II building is accessible 24 hours a day during the Fall 2015 semester. This includes access to the Cyber Fresh Café. Vann Library hours are listed in the table below.
