One of the primary services used by faculty is our Course Reserves system. Vann Library can place copyrighted materials on reserve and have it considered fair use under U.S. Copyright Law only during the first semester the materials are used. Subsequent use of these materials will require the faculty member to obtain copyright permission. (This applies to both print and non-print material for hard copy reserve.)
For a complete overview of Course Reserves procedures and a broader discussion of Fair Use Guidelines, please visit our Course Reserves page.
Library staff develops and maintains a core collection of books, journals, and other materials to support the educational programs of the University of Saint Francis. Purchase decisions are based on a number of criteria, including cost, general user interest and needs, program support, and overall collection need. We encourage library users to make acquisition suggestions, which we always give serious consideration. For assessing materials, the Lee and Jim Vann Library provides access to Choice Reviews Online.
